Emily Flowers's Ownd. Archive of our own app how to download series. Archive of Our Own AO3 is a nonprofit open source repository for fanfiction fic and other fanworks contributed by users. Most mobile device browsers don't have the option to apply userscripts, so unfortunately these tools can only be used on desktop or laptop computers.
You can, however, use bookmarklets in most mobile device browsers. You'll need a browser extension to run userscripts. You can use any extension you prefer, but here's a list of some known extensions for the most popular browsers to get you started:. For more detailed descriptions of some of the tools we list here, you can refer to Archive user Arduinna's unofficial tutorial.
To install, simply select the "Archive of Our Own" link in the list and confirm that you'd like to add it to your search engines. This plugin should work with Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Chrome and will allow you to search AO3 directly from your browser search box.
If you use Google Drive to work on text-based fanworks, you might have run into formatting issues when copying from Google Drive to our Rich Text Editor. In particular, italics and bold text do not carry over correctly when copy-pasting text. You can find it in this example document for posting to AO3. Select the "Make a copy If you have this problem, you can download the file to your computer and send it to your iPad, iPod Touch, or iPhone via a file management application.
Please refer to your device's help files for specific instructions on how to do so. Yes, but there are some limitations. Some services may not support cookies or session login details. This means that if you try to save a work restricted to Archive users, or one with an adult content warning, you'll get the login or adult content confirmation pages instead of the actual work. To save restricted or adult works for later access, you will need to download the work.
When a work is downloaded, they will get the default formatting—that is, the way the work looks when you select "Hide Creator's Style" refer to the Can I disable custom formatting work skins on works? Different devices handle e-book and image layouts in different ways. Styles and skins can also cause accessibility issues for some users.
By not including skins, the downloads are more user-friendly no matter where or how they're being accessed. When styling your works, bear in mind that they need to make sense with your work skin disabled. You can change the way the Archive is displayed to you by applying a site skin for more information, refer to the Skins and Archive Interface FAQ , but this option isn't available for downloads. Even if you're posting only the first work in a planned series, you can still check the box "This work is part of a series" and create a new series to hold it refer to How do I add works to a series?
Doing so allows users to subscribe to the series to be notified when you post a new installment. However, you can't create an empty series that does not contain any works. For more information on subscriptions, refer to How do I subscribe to, or unsubscribe from, a work or series? This action immediately takes you back to the series' main page, and any other changes you've made on the Edit Work page will not be saved.
Note that the series won't be renumbered automatically when you delete a work in the series. For example, if you delete the fourth work in a series that currently has five works, the final work will still be labelled as "Part 5" of the series.
You'll have to renumber the works manually, if necessary. For details on how to renumber works in a series, refer to How do I change the order of works in a series? If you remove the only work in the series, the series will also be deleted and you'll be redirected to your dashboard. You can edit a series from the Edit Series page, which you can reach in one of the following ways.
Once you're on the Edit Series page, you can edit the title, description, and notes fields for the series. If you have more than one pseud , you can choose which one is associated with the series.
You can also add co-creator s , and indicate whether a series is complete or not. Once you've made your changes, select "Update" at the bottom of the page. Note that you can't add, edit, or remove an associated work from this page; you will have to go to that work's edit page instead. Refer to How do I edit a work? For more information about navigating to the series page, refer to How do I find other works in a series?
Series co-creators are automatically inherited from any works included in the series. If you add a work with two or more co-creators to a series, the series will also list the co-creators of that work, even if the series also includes works by a single creator. You can also manually add another co-creator to a series if that user has enabled the option in their preferences. This allows a co-creator to post works directly to that series.
Note that any series co-creators can add other co-creators to the series, regardless of whether they're a co-creator for any of the works in the series. For more on this, check out How can I allow others to add me as a co-creator to a work or series? For more information on accepting invitations, refer to How can I accept or reject a request to be a co-creator?
It's important to make sure you're adding the correct person because you can't cancel an invitation or remove co-creators from a series.
The only way to remove a co-creator is for that person to remove themselves, as described in How do I remove myself as a creator of a series? If you do end up adding a co-creator by mistake, and you don't know how to contact them to have them remove themselves, the only way to remove them is to delete and repost the series. Refer to How do I delete a series? For more information about pseuds, go to the Pseuds FAQ.
For more information about the Edit Series page, refer to How do I edit a series? As is the case with co-creators of works, all co-creators of a series need to have Archive accounts.
For more information about creating an Archive account, refer to How do I create an account? For more information about navigating to the Edit Series page, refer to How do I edit a series? This causes the series to show up as "Complete: Yes" on the series index page. However, if you later decide that your series is not finished, you can still add works regardless of whether it's marked complete or not. You can use the "Delete Series" button on the series page or the Edit Series page to delete a series.
Selecting the "Delete Series" button brings up a pop-up confirmation window; select "OK" to proceed with deleting your series. The works that were part of the series will not be deleted, but they'll no longer be grouped as a series.
