The Lego videogames make me happy. I find the smash-and-collect gameplay soothing, since it falls into my own peculiar brand of OCD. And while it's true the series has evolved slowly, you know what they say: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Even so, The Lego Movie Videogame adds some new twists, like characters who need to collect instruction books before they can build objects, and I'll also give it extra credit for the outstanding voice work Morgan Freeman always gets a half-point by himself.
It falls a little flat in the storytelling--you'll have a lot more fun if you see the movie before playing the game--but overall, it's a great addition to the series.
